Is There a Generic Version?

Mycophenolate mofetil tablets and capsules are available in generic form. The oral liquid suspension and intravenous injection are not yet available in generic versions (see Generic CellCept).

Who Makes Mycophenolate Mofetil?

Brand-name mycophenolate mofetil (sold under the name CellCept) is made by F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Ltd., and distributed by Genentech USA, Inc. Various manufacturers make the generic versions.

Available Strengths

Mycophenolate mofetil comes in the following strengths and forms:
  • Mycophenolate mofetil 250 mg capsules
  • Mycophenolate mofetil 500 mg tablets
  • Mycophenolate mofetil 200 mg per mL oral liquid suspension (supplied in 225-mL bottles)
  • Mycophenolate mofetil 500 mg intravenous, containing 6 mg per mL when reconstituted as directed.
