QT-Prolonging Medications: Final Thoughts

In general, the medications listed above should not be taken by people with long QT syndrome. Also, they should generally not be used in combination. However, there may be circumstances in which this may be necessary. In these situations, close monitoring of the heart rhythm is usually advised. Be sure to talk to your healthcare provider if you have any questions about QT-prolonging medications.
