Triglide Dosage
For people with high triglycerides and normal LDL cholesterol levels, Triglide dosage generally starts at 50 mg to 160 mg once a day. The recommended starting dose for people with high cholesterol, with or without high triglycerides, is 160 mg once a day. Your healthcare provider may start you on a lower Triglide dose, such as 50 mg once a day, if you are over the age of 65 or have severe kidney disease. A few factors that can affect Triglide dosing include your age, the medical condition being treated, and other medical conditions you may have.
The dose of Triglide™ (fenofibrate) that your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
- Your age
- The medical condition being treated
- Other medical conditions you may have
- Other medications you may be currently taking.
As with any drug, do not adjust your Triglide dose unless your healthcare provider instructs you to do so.
The recommended starting dose for people with high triglycerides (fat-like substances) and normal LDL cholesterol levels is Triglide 50 mg to Triglide 160 mg once a day. Your healthcare provider will recommend that you return to have your triglyceride levels rechecked after four to eight weeks. If your triglycerides are still not at the desired level, your healthcare provider may choose to increase your dose or change your medication. The maximum daily dosage of Triglide is 160 mg.
