Transderm Scop Drug Interactions
Combining certain oral medications, cholinergic medications, or anticholinergic drugs with Transderm Scop may lead to negative reactions. Some of these reactions could increase your risk for side effects or make the medications less effective. To help minimize the risk of problems, make sure to discuss potential interactions with your healthcare provider before using Transderm Scop.
An Overview of Interactions With Transderm Scop
Transderm Scop® (scopolamine patch) may interact with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that may react with Transderm Scop include but are not limited to:- Anticholinergic drugs, such as:
- Atropine
- Belladonna (Donnatal®, B&O Supprettes®)
- Benztropine (Cogentin®)
- Clidinium (Librax®)
- Clozapine (Clozaril®)
- Darifenacin (Enablex®)
- Dicyclomine (Bentyl®)
- Diphenhydramine (Benadryl®, Tylenol PM®) and other antihistamines
- Glycopyrrolate (Robinul®)
- Haloperidol (Haldol®)
- Homatropine (Hycodan®)
- Hyoscyamine (Levsin®)
- Ipratropium (Atrovent®)
- Rivastigmine (Exelon®, Exelon Patch)
- Tiotropium (Spiriva®)
- Tolterodine (Detrol®)
- Trospium (Sanctura®)
- Any medications taken by mouth
- Cholinergic medications (including other acetylcholinesterase inhibitors), such as:
