Drug Interactions With Tositumomab

Digoxin, live vaccines, and echinacea are just a few of the drugs that can cause interactions when combined with tositumomab. Some of these reactions can increase the risk for potentially serious side effects or decrease the effectiveness of the medicines. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely if you receive tositumomab, and adjust the dosages of other medicines you are taking.

An Overview of Tositumomab Interactions

Tositumomab (Bexxar®) may interact with several other medications. Some of the drugs that may react with tositumomab include but are not limited to:
 
  • Amphotericin B (Abelcet®, AmBisome®, Amphotec®)
  • Clozapine (Clozaril®, FazaClo®)
  • Digoxin (Lanoxin®)
  • Certain biologic and immunologic medications, such as:
 
 
 
 
  • Medications that increase the risk of bleeding, such as:
 
 
 
 
      • Alteplase (Activase®)
      • Reteplase (Retavase®)
      • Streptokinase (Streptase®)
