Thalomid Capsules

Thalomid® (thalidomide) is a drug licensed to treat multiple myeloma, and to treat or prevent skin lesions caused by leprosy. Thalomid comes as capsules that must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. The recommended dosing guidelines call for taking this medicine once daily, at least one hour after a meal.
 
A majority of people who take Thalomid will develop some type of side effect. Some of the common reactions to this drug include swelling, numbness of the skin, or low levels of calcium in the blood. Also, there are strict regulations for prescribing and dispensing this medication to avoid the use of Thalomid in pregnant women. Thalomid has been shown to cause birth defects and fetal death.
