Tacrolimus and Grapefruit Juice

Several products can cause potentially negative interactions when combined with tacrolimus (Prograf®, Protopic®), including grapefruit. You should not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking this drug. Grapefruit juice may increase the amount of tacrolimus in your body, possibly increasing your risk for side effects. This interaction is not likely to occur with tacrolimus ointment.
