Simvastatin? Simvastin is a common misspelling of simvastatin.
Simvastatin (Zocor®) is a medication often prescribed to treat high cholesterol and high triglycerides. It can also be used for the prevention of cardiovascular disease. It belongs to a class of drugs called statins, which work by blocking a particular enzyme that controls the rate of cholesterol production in the body. Simvastatin, which is generally taken once daily, comes in tablet form and is available in five different strengths, ranging from 5 mg to 80 mg.
