In order to prevent rejection after a heart, liver, or kidney transplant, you may be given Sandimmune
® (
cyclosporine). This drug comes in three forms: an injection, capsules, and an oral solution (liquid). The form your healthcare provider recommends will depend on various factors, including your weight.
Sandimmune oral solution will taste better if mixed with milk, chocolate milk, or orange juice, preferably at room temperature. When mixing your dose, use a glass container (not plastic) and drink the mixture immediately. After drinking, rinse the glass with a little more liquid to make sure you get your entire dose.
