Who Should Not Take Risedronate and Calcium?

You should not take risedronate and calcium if you:
 
  • Are allergic to risedronate and calcium, Actonel With Calcium, or any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have low blood calcium (hypocalcemia) or high blood calcium (hypercalcemia).
     
  • Cannot sit or stand upright for 30 minutes (which is necessary in order to take the drug).
     
  • Have problems with your esophagus, such as an esophageal stricture or difficulty swallowing.
