The most common side effect of rabeprazole is a headache. However, it is important to note that not everyone who takes this medication will experience side effects. Other less commmon side effects include allergic reaction, tiredness, and high blood pressure. Rare rabeprazole side effects include swelling of the face, slowed heart rate, pulmonary embolus, and bloody diarrhea.
As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with rabeprazole (Aciphex®); but not everyone who takes rabeprazole will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate the medicine well. When people do develop side effects, in most cases they are minor, meaning they require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Rabeprazole has been studied extensively in clinical trials, with over 2,900 people worldwide having been evaluated. In these studies, side effects are always documented. This way, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to a group not taking the medicine.
Based on these studies, the most common side effect of rabeprazole, occurring in more than 2 percent of people, was headache.
