Rabeprazole
Rabeprazole (Aciphex) is a medicine that reduces the amount of acid in your stomach. It is used to improve heartburn and other gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms, allow damage to the esophagus to heal, and give the stomach or intestines time to heal, among other things. It is important for people to talk to their healthcare provider prior to taking rabeprazole if they have liver disease or liver failure, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have any allergies.
Rabeprazole (Aciphex®) is a medication that is used to treat a number of conditions within the esophagus, stomach, and intestines, including:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Erosive esophagitis
- Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infections
- Pathological hypersecretory conditions (such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome)
- Duodenal ulcers.

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with rabeprazole. However, not everyone who takes it will experience side effects. When people do develop side effects, they are usually minor, meaning that they require no treatment or are easily treated by your healthcare provider.
