As a bile acid sequestrant, Questran^® (cholestyramine) can treat high cholesterol and itching caused by partial biliary obstruction. In most cases, people tolerate this prescription medication well. However, it is not suitable for everyone. Possible side effects include constipation, stomach discomfort, and gas.
