Prevastatin

If you have high cholesterol or high triglycerides, your healthcare provider may prescribe pravastatin (Pravachol®) to help lower the levels of these substances. The medication can also be used to prevent heart disease and other heart-related problems. Pravastatin comes in generic and brand-name form, comes as a tablet, and is available in four different strengths. Some of the side effects that have been reported with this drug include muscle or joint pain, memory loss, and the common cold.
