What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

If you forget to take one of your doses, take it as soon as you remember and continue with your dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time. If you forget to use polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution before your procedure, tell your healthcare provider. Your procedure may need to be rescheduled.
 

Available Polyethylene Glycol Electrolyte Solution Products

Polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution is available in several different products, including:
 
  • colyte, which contains polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and sodium sulfate
  • GoLYTELY packet, which contains polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and sodium sulfate
  • MoviPrep, which contains polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium sulfate, ascorbic acid, and sodium ascorbate
  • NuLYTELY, which contains polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and sodium bicarbonate
  • TriLyte, which contains polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and sodium bicarbonate.
 
It is also available in combination with bisacodyl tablets as HalfLytely® and Bisacodyl (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution and bisacodyl).
 

Can I Buy Generic Polyethylene Glycol Electrolyte Solution?

Many, but not all, polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution products are available in generic form. Make sure your healthcare provider knows if you need a generic product (for cost or insurance reasons).
