Pimozide Tablets
Pimozide (Orap®) is a prescription medicine prescribed for the treatment of Tourette syndrome. Specifically, pimozide tablets are used to control motor and verbal tics caused by Tourette syndrome when other treatment has failed. It is also reserved for use only when this condition is severe enough that it affects development or interferes with a person's daily life.
Pimozide tablets come in 1-mg and 2-mg strengths and are taken one or more times a day. Your specific dosage will be calculated based on factors like your weight, age, and response to the medication. While most people tolerate this medication well, some people may develop side effects. Common adverse reactions include weakness, headaches, and sleepiness.
