Phenergan 25 mg

Phenergan® (promethazine hydrochloride) is approved for various uses. It is typically taken one to three times a day, depending on the condition being treated.

The standard recommended dosage for treating allergies is Phenergan 25 mg (in tablet, rectal suppository, or syrup form) before bedtime. For treating allergic reactions, such as reactions to blood transfusions, a typical dose of 25 mg is usually given (and may be repeated within two hours if necessary).

A typical Phenergan dose for treating nausea and vomiting in adults is 12.5 to 25 mg (for all forms) every four to six hours as needed. For children, the healthcare provider will determine the amount based on your child's weight, typically around 0.5 mg per pound, given every four to six hours as needed.

The recommended dose for treating motion sickness in adults is Phenergan 25 mg (in any form) twice daily. A similar dosing regimen is recommended for children, except with a lower amount (12.5 to 25 mg twice daily).

In order to produce sedation in children, up to 25 mg of Phenergan may be given (in any form). Adults usually require a higher dosage, such as 25 to 50 mg.
