Drug Interactions With Peginterferon Alfa-2b

If you are receiving injections of peginterferon alfa-2b, you may not be able to take aldesleukin, methadone, or theophylline products, among other medications. Interactions may occur when drugs such as these are combined with peginterferon alfa-2b. These reactions may lead to bothersome side effects, decrease the effectiveness of the medicines, or cause other complications.

Aldesleukin
Interferons like peginterferon alfa-2b may increase the risk of aldesleukin side effects. In general, these drugs should not be combined.
 
Fluoxetine
Peginterferon alfa-2b may decrease the level of fluoxetine in the blood, making it less effective. Check with your healthcare provider before using these medications together.
