Side Effects of Pantoprazole

Common side effects of pantoprazole may include headache, nausea, insomnia, vomiting, and abnormal liver function tests. Other relatively common pantoprazole side effects include such things as abdominal pain and elevated blood sugar levels. While there are many other possible side effects associated with pantoprazole, most of them are rare. Some of these rare side effects include allergic reaction, fever, and chills.

Side Effects of Pantoprazole: An Introduction

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with pantoprazole sodium ("pantoprazole"). Yet, not everyone who takes pantoprazole (also marketed under the brand name Protonix®) will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate the medicine well. If side effects do occur, they tend to be minor, which means that they require no treatment or are easily treated by a healthcare provider.
