What Is Olopatadine Ophthalmic Solution?
Olopatadine ophthalmic solution (
Patanol®,
Pataday™) is a prescription eyedrop used for the treatment of eye
allergies (known medically as allergic conjunctivitis, which is a common cause of
pink eye). It comes in two forms: Patanol (taken twice a day) or Pataday (taken just once a day).
Just like any medicine, olopatadine ophthalmic solution can cause side effects.
However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
