Drug Interactions With Olopatadine Ophthalmic Solution

Olopatadine ophthalmic solution (Patanol®, Pataday™) is a prescription eyedrop approved for treating eye allergies (known medically as allergic conjunctivitis). This medication is believed to be free of significant drug interactions at this time.

Because very little of the medication actually reaches the bloodstream (and therefore the rest of the body), serious drug interactions with olopatadine ophthalmic solution are not expected. The eyedrops are unlikely to affect other medications, and other medications are unlikely to affect olopatadine ophthalmic solution.

There may be olopatadine ophthalmic solution drug interactions that are currently unknown but that may be discovered at a later date. Therefore, it is always a good idea to include olopatadine ophthalmic solution in your list of medications when checking for any interactions. Also, make sure to check with your healthcare provider about any possible interactions that may apply to your particular situation.
