Drug Interactions With Olopatadine Nasal Spray

Narcotics or opiates, alcoholic beverages, and other antihistamines may cause drug interactions with olopatadine nasal spray. These interactions could increase the risk of drowsiness and may decrease your alertness. Until more information is available about the potential effects of olopatadine nasal spray interactions, you should use caution when combining the nasal spray with medications that cause drowsiness.

An Overview of Olopatadine Nasal Spray Drug Interactions

Olopatadine nasal spray (Patanase®) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to olopatadine nasal spray interactions include:
 
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Barbiturates, such as:

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)

 

  • Benzodiazepines, including:
