Norinyl Warnings and Precautions

There are many Norinyl warnings and precautions to be aware of before starting this form of birth control. Tell your healthcare provider if you have certain health conditions (such as depression, high blood pressure, or gallbladder disease), as Norinyl can make some of these conditions worse. Warnings and precautions with Norinyl also include potential drug interactions and an increased risk of blood clots, heart attacks, or strokes.

You should talk with your healthcare provider before taking Norinyl® if you have:

  • Smoke cigarettes
  • Have an upcoming surgery
  • Are over 35 years old
  • Are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding.

Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
