Drug Interactions With Nora-BE

Many drug interactions with Nora-BE are serious enough to cause unintentional pregnancy. Some of the medicines that may interact with the birth control pill include barbiturates, aminoglutethimide, modafinil, and certain seizure medications. Drug Interactions With Nora-BE: An Overview

Nora-BE® (norethindrone) is a generic version of Nor-QD®. It can potentially interact with numerous other medicines. Many of these interactions can be severe enough to lead to unintentional pregnancy, and a backup method of birth control (such as condoms) may be recommended in many cases. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Nora-BE include:
  • Aminoglutethimide (Cytadren®)
  • Antibiotics
  • Aprepitant (Emend®)
  • Barbiturate medications, such as:
    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Primidone (Mysoline®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)
