Nalaxone Hydrochloride

Naloxone hydrochloride (Narcan®) is a prescription medication approved to treat the effects of opioid medications. It can help reduce the effects of an opioid overdose, or when high doses of the medication are used for things like surgery or cancer pain. Naloxone is also approved to increase blood pressure in people who have septic shock. The drug, which is only available as a generic product, comes as a liquid that is injected into a vein, muscle, or under the skin.
