Muromonab-CD3

Muromonab-CD3 is a prescription drug licensed to treat transplant rejection following a liver, heart, or kidney transplant. It works by decreasing the activity of the immune system, so it will stop attacking the newly transplanted organ. Most people who receive this drug will experience some type of side effect, such as fever, diarrhea, or nausea.

What Is Muromonab-CD3?

Muromonab-CD3 (Orthoclone OKT®3) is a prescription medication approved to treat transplant rejection in people who have received a kidney, liver, or heart transplant. It is considered an immunosuppressant because it decreases the activity of the immune system.

Are There Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, muromonab-CD3 can cause side effects.
 As with many other immunosuppressant medications, the side effects can be significant. Although not everyone who receives this medicine will have problems, most people will experience some type of side effect during treatment.
