MonoNessa

MonoNessa is an combined oral contraceptive, which is one of the most common forms of birth control. It contains two hormones (progestin and estrogen) that prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation, changing the cervical mucus, and altering the endometrium. Each pack of MonoNessa holds 28 pills; you must take one tablet at the same time each day. Potential MonoNessa side effects include breakthrough bleeding, vomiting, and headache.

 

What Is MonoNessa?

MonoNessa® (norgestimate/ethinyl estradiol) is a prescription birth control pill (technically known as an oral contraceptive). It is a generic version of Ortho-Cyclen®.

MonoNessa Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with MonoNessa. However, not everyone who uses the contraceptive will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
 
Common side effects of MonoNessa include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Breast tenderness or swelling
  • Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding or spotting between periods)
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Headaches.
