Mitomycin for Bladder Cancer

Mitomycin (Mutamycin®) is a prescription medication approved to treat stomach or pancreatic cancer that has not adequately responded to other treatment. It works by interrupting the multiplication process of DNA, which helps slow down the growth of cancer cells.

There may also be situations when a healthcare provider may prescribe mitomycin to treat bladder cancer. However, this is considered an off-label (unapproved) use for the medication.
