Mevacor Drug Interactions

Nefazodone
Combining nefazodone with Mevacor increases the risk of serious muscle problems. In general, these medications should not be taken together.
 
Protease Inhibitors
Combining a protease inhibitor with Mevacor increases the risk of serious muscle problems. In general, these medications should not be taken together.
 
Ranolazine
There have been a few cases of serious muscle problems, such as myopathy or rhabdomyolysis, in people taking Mevacor with ranolazine. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your progress closely and make necessary dosing adjustments.
  
Verapamil
Taking both verapamil and Mevacor together may increase the chance for developing serious muscle problems, such as myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. If you take verapamil, the Mevacor dosage should not exceed 20 mg daily.
 
Warfarin
Mevacor can potentially interact with warfarin, possibly increasing the risk of bleeding. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more often and adjust your warfarin dosage as necessary.
