Side Effects of Metronidazole Cream

If you use metronidazole cream, you may develop skin discomfort, redness, or worsening of rosacea. These are some of the most common side effects, but they tend to be minor and easy to treat. There are also some more serious problems that may occur, such as difficulty breathing, numbness in the hands or feet, or intolerable skin reactions, which you should report to your healthcare provider right away.

An Introduction to Side Effects of Metronidazole Cream

Just like any medicine, metronidazole cream (MetroCream®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with metronidazole cream. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list with you.)
