Were you looking for more information about Pravastatin? Pravustatin is a common misspelling of pravastatin.
Pravastatin (Pravachol®) is a prescription drug approved for the treatment of high cholesterol and high triglycerides. It can also be used to prevent heart disease and heart-related problems. By blocking the enzyme that controls the rate of cholesterol production in the body, pravastatin can increase HDL ("good cholesterol"), decrease triglycerides, and increase the liver's ability to collect and get rid of LDL ("bad cholesterol"). The medication comes as a tablet and is available in generic and brand-name form.
