Levoxyl 25 mcg

Levoxyl® (levothyroxine sodium) is a prescription drug commonly used for the treatment of thyroid problems, including an underactive thyroid and certain types of thyroid cancers.

It comes in tablet form and is available in 12 different strengths, including:

  • 25 mcg (orange)
  • 50 mcg (white)
  • 75 mcg (purple)
  • 88 mcg (olive)
  • 100 mcg (yellow)
  • 112 mcg (rose)
  • 125 mcg (brown)
  • 137 mcg (dark blue)
  • 150 mcg (blue)
  • 175 mcg (turquoise)
  • 200 mcg (pink)
  • 300 mcg (green).

There is no standard Levoxyl dosage, because different people have varying degrees of hypothyroidism and other thyroid problems. Dosing is individualized for each person; some healthcare providers recommend a lower starting dose (such as 25 mcg of Levoxyl) and gradually work up to the best dose, while others recommend a higher dose and adjust as necessary.

(Click Levoxyl Dosage for information on what your healthcare provider will consider before making a dosing recommendation and to find out what the usual Levoxyl dose is for the average adult.)
