Dosing Information for Colestipol

The dose of colestipol your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, such as:
  • The form of colestipol (tablets versus granules)
  • Other medical conditions you may have
  • Other medications you may be taking.

Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with colestipol. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor, meaning they require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Most people do not stop taking this medication because of side effects.
