Drug Interactions With Loteprednol

Loteprednol etabonate (Alrex®, Lotemax®) is a prescription eye medication approved for treating eye inflammation and eye allergies. It belongs to a group of medications known as corticosteroids (or simply "steroids"). Because very little of the medication in loteprednol actually reaches the bloodstream (and therefore the rest of the body), significant drug interactions are not expected to occur with normal use.
However, make sure to check with your healthcare provider before using any other eye drops along with loteprednol. Also, be sure to ask which eye drop to use first and how long to wait between drops.
It is possible that there may be loteprednol drug interactions that are currently unknown but that may be discovered at a later date. Therefore, when talking to your healthcare provider about any potential drug interactions that may apply to you, be sure to include loteprednol in your list of current medications.
