Loratadine Dangers

Loratadine (Claritin®) is a non-prescription drug approved for treating allergies and hives. It is effective for alleviating itching due to hives and relieving common allergy symptoms, such as itchy or watery eyes, sneezing, and runny nose.
 
Before starting this medication, you should familiarize yourself with potential loratadine dangers. If you have liver or kidney disease, your body may not handle this medicine as well as it should. You should check with your healthcare provider before taking loratadine, as you may need a lower dosage than the label on the product states.
 
Some of the most common side effects that have been reported with loratadine include headaches, fatigue, and dry mouth. While most side effects of the medicine are mild, you should contact your healthcare provider if you develop any breathing problems or signs of an allergic reaction (such as hives or unexplained swelling).
