An Introduction to Loratadine and Pseudoephedrine Sulfate Dosing
There is only one recommended dose of
loratadine and pseudoephedrine sulfate (
Claritin-D®), although it may be taken once or twice a day, depending on the particular product. As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
Loratadine and Pseudoephedrine Sulfate Dosing for Adults and Older Children
The recommended dose of
loratadine and
pseudoephedrine sulfate for most adults and children age 12 and over is one 12-hour tablet twice daily or one 24-hour tablet once daily. People whose symptoms are not adequately controlled by one 24-hour tablet daily may benefit from switching to the twice-daily, 12-hour product. People who experience
insomnia while taking the 12-hour tablets may benefit from switching to the once-daily product (which seems less likely to cause insomnia).
