Lofibra Dosage
Lofibra dosage guidelines are based on several factors, including what you are being treated for, other medicines you are taking, and whether the capsule or tablet form is prescribed. The recommended starting dosage for high triglycerides is 54 mg to 160 mg once a day (for tablets). When treating high cholesterol, the suggested Lofibra dosage is 160 mg (tablets) and 200 mg (capsules).
The dose of Lofibra® (fenofibrate) that your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
- Your age
- The medical condition being treated
- Other medical conditions you may have
- Other medications you may be currently taking
- Whether you are taking Lofibra capsules or tablets.
As with any drug, do not adjust your Lofibra dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
For people taking Lofibra tablets, the recommended starting dose for high triglycerides (fat-like substances) with normal LDL cholesterol levels is 54 mg to 160 mg once a day. For people taking Lofibra capsules, the recommended starting dosage is 67 mg to 200 mg once a day.
Your healthcare provider will likely recommend that you return to recheck your triglyceride levels after four to eight weeks. If your triglycerides are still not at the desirable level, your healthcare provider may choose to increase your dose or change your medication.
