Levoxyl Oral

Levoxyl® (levothyroxine sodium) is a prescription medicine licensed for the treatment of an underactive thyroid. It is also approved to treat various other thyroid problems, including certain types of thyroid cancer. The drug comes in tablet form and is available in a wide variety of strengths. Levoxyl oral tablets are typically taken once a day in the morning.

For people whose thyroid glands do not produce enough thyroid hormones, this medication is a good option because it is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring hormone levothyroxine (also known as T4).

While most people tolerate Levoxyl oral tablets well, side effects are possible. Some of the most commonly reported side effects include high blood pressure, insomnia, hair loss, and rapid heart rate.
