Levoxyl® (levothyroxine sodium) is a prescription drug used for treating an underactive thyroid. It is also approved to treat a wide variety of other thyroid problems, including certain forms of thyroid cancer. Levoxyl, which comes in tablet form and is typically taken once daily, is a manufactured version of the thyroid hormone levothyroxine (T4). You should talk to your healthcare provider before using this medication if you have diabetes, osteoporosis, or a recent history of heart attack.
