Levoxyl® (levothyroxine sodium) is a prescription drug approved for the treatment of an underactive thyroid. It can also be used to treat various other thyroid problems, including certain types of thyroid cancer. Levoxyl is a synthetic version of levothyroxine (T4), a thyroid hormone that may be low in people with an underactive thyroid. The medicine comes in tablet form and is available in 12 different strengths, ranging from 25 mcg to 300 mcg.
