Dosing Information

The dose of leuprolide your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
  • The particular leuprolide product you are using
  • The reasons you are using the medicine
  • How you respond to it
  • Your weight (in children).
As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Drug Interactions

Leuprolide may react with a few other medicines (see Drug Interactions With Leuprolide).

What If I Take an Overdose?

It may be possible to take too much leuprolide, although it is not entirely clear what to expect from an overdose. Seek immediate medical attention if you or someone else may have overdosed on this or any other drug.
(Click Leuprolide Overdose for more information.)

What Should I Do If I Forget a Dose?

If you are using leuprolide once a day and forget your dose, give yourself the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, however, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.
If you are receiving the injection once a month or less frequently and miss a dose, contact your healthcare provider right away. Your symptoms may return if you miss a dose of this medicine.
