Leuprolide Generic

Two out of the three brand-name forms of leuprolide acetate (Eligard® and Lupron Depot®) are not available in generic form. However, the daily subcutaneous injection Lupron® is available as a generic. In fact, it is only sold in generic form at this time.
Generic Lupron is made by a few different companies, including:
  • Sandoz
  • Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc.
  • Teva Pharmaceuticals.
(Click Generic Eligard, Generic Lupron, or Generic Lupron Depot for more detailed information on why certain forms of leuprolide are not available in generic form and how the generic version of Lupron compares to the brand-name drug.)
