Lansoprazole Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects may occur with lansoprazole. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In most cases, if side effects do occur, they are minor, meaning they require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Drug Interactions

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

Prior to starting treatment with lansoprazole, you should let your healthcare provider know if you:
 
  • Have liver disease or liver failure
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have any allergies.
 
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

What If I Take an Overdose?

There have been a limited number of cases of people overdosing on lansoprazole. Therefore, the symptoms of an overdose are not well known. If you happen to take too much, seek immediate medical attention.
