Lansoprazole Drug Interactions

For those people taking lansoprazole, drug interactions may occur with medications such as theophylline and warfarin. Other possible drug interactions with lansoprazole may involve medicines like digoxin and ketoconazole.

Lansoprazole Drug Interactions: An Introduction

Lansoprazole (marketed under the brand name Prevacid®) potentially has a number of medicines with which it may interact. Some of these medications include:

Atazanavir
Do not combine lansoprazole with atazanavir, since lansoprazole can significantly reduce the level of atazanavir in your blood (making it less effective).

Digoxin
If you are taking both lansoprazole and digoxin, your body may metabolize them differently than intended. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your progress closely.

Ketoconazole
If you are taking lansoprazole and ketoconazole, your body may metabolize them differently than intended. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your progress closely.

Theophylline
If you are taking both lansoprazole and theophylline, your body may metabolize them differently than intended. Your healthcare provider may choose to adjust your theophylline dose and monitor your progress more closely.
