Lansoprazole Drug Interactions
For those people taking lansoprazole, drug interactions may occur with medications such as erlotinib and warfarin. In some cases, these interactions can make your medications less effective; in others, they can actually increase your body's absorption of medicine. Other possible drug interactions may involve products like digoxin and ketoconazole.
Lansoprazole (marketed under the brand name Prevacid®) can potentially interfere with a number of medicines. Some of these medications include:
- Ampicillin
- Atazanavir (Reyataz®)
- Clopidogrel (Plavix®)
- Delavirdine (Rescriptor®)
- Digoxin (Digitek®, Lanoxin®)
- Certain diuretics, such as:
- Bumetanide (Bumex®)
- Chlorothiazide (Diuril®)
- Chlorthalidone (Thalitone®)
- Ethacrynic acid (Edecrin®)
- Furosemide (Lasix®)
- Hydrochlorothiazide (Esidrix®, HydroDIURIL®, Microzide®, Oretic®)
- Metolazone (Zaroxolyn®)
- Torsemide (Demadex®)
- Erlotinib (Tarceva®)
- Iron
- Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
- Methotrexate (Rheumatrex®, Trexall®)
- Nelfinavir (Viracept®)
- Posaconazole (Noxafil®)
- Tacrolimus (Prograf®)
- Warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®).
