What Is Ketoconazole Foam Used For?

Can Children Use Ketoconazole Foam?

Ketoconazole foam is not approved for people younger than age 12. Your child's healthcare provider can still recommend and prescribe this medication for children, although you should be aware that it has not been adequately studied in children younger than 12 years old.

What About Off-Label Uses?

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this medicine for treating something other than seborrhea. This is called an "off-label" use. Using ketoconazole foam for treating other types of fungal infections would be an off-label use.
