Ketoconazole Foam
If you have seborrhea, you may benefit from using ketoconazole foam. This prescription medication is thought to work by killing certain types of fungus that cause this particular skin condition. It comes as a medicated foam that is applied on the affected areas of the skin twice daily for four weeks. Side effects may include a burning sensation or other skin reactions.
Ketoconazole foam (Extina®) is a prescription skin medication. It is approved to treat seborrhea.

Just like any medicine, ketoconazole foam may cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the product will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. Serious side effects are less common.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
Common ketoconazole foam side effects include but are not limited to:
- Burning sensation
- Other skin reactions.
