Precautions and Warnings With Junel Fe

To minimize possible risks and complications, talk to your healthcare provider about precautions and warnings with Junel Fe prior to taking the birth control pill. For example, you should tell your healthcare provider if you have certain health conditions, such as gallbladder disease, depression, or high blood pressure. Junel Fe can make some of these conditions worse.

Junel Fe: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Junel Fe™ (norethindrone/ethinyl estradiol) if you have:
 
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
 
  • A smoker
  • Over 35 years old
  • Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Breastfeeding.
     
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
 
(Junel Fe is a generic version of Loestrin® Fe and is also equivalent to Microgestin® Fe birth control pills. The information in this article also applies to both of these medications.)
