Drug Interactions With Ibritumomab

Vaccinations, echinacea, and certain other drugs may cause adverse interactions when combined with ibritumomab. Some of these reactions can increase the risk for potentially serious side effects or decrease the effectiveness of the medicines. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely if you receive ibritumomab, and adjust the dosages of other medicines you are taking.

An Overview of Ibritumomab Interactions

Ibritumomab (Zevalin®) may react with several other medications. Some of the drugs that may interact with ibritumomab include but are not limited to:
 
  • Amphotericin B (Abelcet®, AmBisome®, Amphotec®)
  • Clozapine (Clozaril®, FazaClo®)
  • Digoxin (Lanoxin®)
  • Certain biologic and immunologic medications, such as:
 
 
 
 
  • Medications that "thin" the blood, including anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs, such as:
 
 
 
 
      • Alteplase (Activase®)
      • Reteplase (Retavase®)
      • Streptokinase (Streptase®)
      • Tenecteplase (TNKase®)
