What If I Take an Overdose of Granisetron?
It is not known exactly what to expect from a granisetron overdose. An overdose is unlikely, as most people are given just a few tablets of granisetron at a time (due to the high cost of the medication).
If you happen to overdose on granisetron, seek medical attention immediately
(see Kytril Overdose).
Granisetron: Storage Methods
Granisetron should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Granisetron tablets and oral solution should be stored in an airtight container.
Keep granisetron and all other medications out of the reach of children.
What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Granisetron?
Tell your healthcare provider if you forgot to take your granisetron dose before your chemotherapy or radiation is started. Most likely, you will be given a granisetron dose immediately.
Granisetron comes in the following strengths and forms:
- Granisetron 1 mg tablets
- Granisetron oral solution (2 mg per 10 mL, which is equivalent to 1 mg per teaspoonful).
An injectable form of granisetron is also available.
Is There a Generic Version of Granisetron?
Currently, both brand-name and generic versions of granisetron are licensed for sale
(see Generic Kytril).
