Fondaparinux is prescribed to treat and prevent blood clots. This blood thinner works by slowing down clot formation, allowing the body to break down the clots naturally. Before using this medication, tell your healthcare provider if you have any allergies, a bleeding disorder, or high blood pressure. Also, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of all other medicines you are taking, including nonprescription drugs.
Fondaparinux sodium (Arixtra®) is a prescription medication approved to prevent and treat blood clots. It is taken by injection just below the skin.
